Kettlebell Juggling Workout:

Today on Kettlebell Movement I am going to take you through a workout that will use all of your kettlebell skills to perform properly. This practice of throwing, catching and even flipping the kettlebell throughout the basic movements is a lot of fun and highly challenging. Make sure that before you attempt this workout that you have practiced your kettlebell swings, kettlebell clean&presskettlebell snatch
and figure eighth’s to the point where you simply can’t get them wrong. This is no time to learn these moves, it is a chance to progress them once you have them mastered. Make sure you are in the right environment for potentially dropping a kettlebell, I recommend grass or sand. Rubber gym floors may seem like a good idea, however, dropping a bell on a rubber floor can make it bounce in strange directions so think about heading outside for this workout. Also, make sure you aren’t competing for space with equipment or with other people. Keep your eye on the bell at all times and be ready to step away from it at any moment should you need to.

In addition to requiring a ton of coordination, juggling kettlebells will use more of your grip strength than ever. You will also be required to focus on the movement like the first time you trained with a kettlebell. Rid yourself of any distractions and find the right size bell, I recommend a bell in the medium to light range. Too light of a bell will move more in the air, making it harder to control and if you go too heavy you won’t have the strength to perform these challenging moves. In this workout I will get you started with the basic swing and catch, then progress into more challenging variations. Play along with me to the best of your ability and feel free to stop at any time if I progress further than you feel comfortable. Simply go back to the previous regression and build up strength from there. You can also switch to a lighter bell, or just take a break and come back tomorrow after you’ve had a chance to rest. Remember, the demand on your grip is significantly increased so stay conscious of how those muscles are doing and proceed carefully.

I love this kind of training, making the highly challenging look very easy. As we all know, it’s about technique. There is no question you will build tons of strength along the way, reshape your body and become more physically capable than you have ever been before. The point of this training is that you create unity from your mind to your body, and in every link of your kinetic chain. Practice this workout until you have all of these basic moves down, you can be assured that I will bring you more challenging kettlebell juggling workouts in the future!
