Today, I am going to be helping Casey practice her kettlebell moves through a HIIT workout. Her technique still needs some polishing, but the point of this workout is to help you see how beginning practitioners make certain mistakes, and to allow you to see me help her correct them. Please remember, this isn’t the best video to see great technique, but it should help you to see the coaching I provide. Chances are, you are making some of these mistakes too. If you want visual guidance on these exercises today, refer to my instructional videos or watch any of my basic workouts where I demonstrate the moves. Our workout today is going to be done Tababta style, which should allow you to keep the pace up without excessive repetitions. With that said, if you are still learning the basics of kettlebell training, consider watching the instructional videos and not practicing to a clock.
Today’s workout:
- Two handed kettlebell swing
- Dual Push press
- Bent row
- Ballistic snatch
As you may already know, tabata style means twenty seconds of exercise followed by ten seconds of rest, each exercise is eight rounds, totaling four minutes. You will need one medium - heavy bell and two lighter bells for this workout. If you don’t have two lighter bells, you can do the push presses with one bell and switch hands every thirty second interval, the way we do the rows and snatches. This workout is less than twenty minutes but will work every muscle in your body as well as get the heart pumping and make you sore tomorrow!
