Lifting weight from the ground to overhead is what kettlebell and strong person training is all about. Nothng is quite as satisfying and as challenging in weight lifting and the benefits are numerous; building full body strength, flexibility, cardiovascular conditioning and also working both the mind and body together. This is the reason that our signature Kettlebell Movement challenge is going to use four lifts, from the ground to overhead. I haven’t officially posted the challenge because I wanted to give everyone a few weeks to practice up, so try to focus on these basics and you’ll be ready when the time comes.
Practice these four lifts in any order.
Turkish Getup
Clean & Jerk
Clean & Bent press
Dead snatch
Watch the short video to get three very important tips to the overall training approach so that you can perform your best when the challenge comes out. You can also watch the video to see the techniques in action, but I would recommend you refer to my instructional videos for a real tutorial if you are not familiar with or are still polishing these exercises. They are big bang lifts that do it all, and we will be doing it with just one single weight. Doing more with less, that’s what it’s all about.
