The most common feedback I receive often regards the same general principle, a principle which is the very foundation of my teaching.
I have recently noticed an upsurge in the amount of people pointing out how something I said didn’t work for them or had to be modified in a certain way. This can include anything from diet to physical exercise.
While I do attempt to say this often, I would just like to say it again, the basis for finding health is to do what is the most in sync with your unique biology. Whatever that means for you. For most people, the most important part of following this principle is learning how to listen and read your body for signs that what you are doing is good or bad for it.
For some people, certain foods should be completely avoided while someone else can achieve a high level of health from consuming it. Kettlebell training isn’t for everyone either, you should exercise in a way that not only makes you healthier but also motivates you to come back for more. There is a level of kettlebell training that is right for each individual and this is determined by many things that the practitioner can consider for themselves.
One of my teachers told me to use their words as a stepping stone and never get too caught up in the details. Always take the information in and consider it for yourself before applying it in your own life. I always say that learning doesn’t come from obtaining information, but by contemplating the information that you have obtained. Don’t be afraid to do your own thing and follow what’s right for you. Remember, I am sending my message out to many people and have to generalize much more than I would prefer. Your ability to listen and follow the subtle signals your body is sending will have a greater impact on the level of health you will achieve than following that diet or workout routine you saw online to the tee.
Until next time,
